VHSpresso Coffee Parodies

In order to help promote the VHSpresso coffee stand inside of Scarecrow Video in Seattle I came up with an on-going series of video cover parodies. They're all coffee themed and pretty ridiculous. I have to claim that Too Much Coffee Man is a huge influence on these.

 

Drinky Movie Show

Here's a poster for the first Drinky Movie Show put on by Derek Sheen, Travis Vogt and Kevin Clarke at the Sunset Tavern in Ballard, Washington. It was a show dedicated to comedians talking about film, presenting short films, and dissection of horrible movies.

International Independent Video Store Day!!!

I whipped this poster up for such a good day!! Such a good that all video store employees should get paid time and a half. As if this day was as important as some other international holidays seem to think they are.

I'm going to be celebrating at my place of work Scarecrow Video. Come on by for some sales and discounts and other stuff. 

The yeti guy was totally inspired by "Aargh the Awful" on the artwork for the funny and weird post-apocalyptic film America 3000.

Adventure Buddies - Episode 6 Revenge of the Return

Here's the last of the Adventure Buddies posters. All 6 episodes have been finished and shown. It's over for now. I'm sure there will be some DVD stuff, some story books, and soundtrack releases yet to come but for now it's done. Check out the show on Funny or Die!

This is the latest poster for this Novermber's Entertainment Show at the Sunset Tavern in Seattle. The artwork is based off of the short films of the Karate Brothers and the design is inspired by the poster for Circle of Iron. Mostly digital with some pencil sketches

Here's a digital painting based on the short film serial by Kevin Clarke and Travis Vogt titled Steel of Fire Warriors 2010 A.D.

Major inspiration was the legendary poster artist Drew Struzan who has recently retired from making movie posters full time. Read his own comment here and weep hard. The worst part of this is that Struzan was one of the last to actually hand craft a poster for mainstream films and their franchies instead of just mashing together some photo-manipulated crap together. So long, you will always inspire me.

Steel Fire Warriors!!!

So here's a new poster I've designed and painted for Kevin and Travis of Seattle's Entertainment Show. It's for the latest post-apocalyptic series of shorts that they'll be showing starting on the 29th of January at the Sunset Tavern.

Video by Clear Days Always

So this is a video and piece of music that Clear Days Always did. I don't know why exactly, but it's sort of flattering? It features a bunch of photos that I took. Some I didn't.

There's also a remix of this song at the myspace for a band called Ling Ling.

The Future is Ending

This is a painting that I've done for a fan down in Texas. She wanted something new from me and this is what I came up with. I work in a video store with a lot of great painted covers for "bad" action movies. Some of the most creative are the ones from the Post-Apocalyptic genre. So I really wanted to try and do one of my own. I came up with the blue grid background because that's just classic for films from the 80's. Then I had the idea for the Title. "The Future is Ending". Seemed strange and gimmicy for that genre.

I had figured in an earlier sketch a guy dressed in black with a sword and a helmet. Once I actually got to laying paint down I just gave him a sword-hand. The Laser rifle, wasn't a conscious take-off of the 80's Lasertag rifle. It wasn't until I did it, did I realize. That gun was the greatest design back in the day too. I thought that the missiles were a good touch. The Stealth Bomber wasn't even a part of my original idea, but I needed something cool to go in that area. So I thought that those looked "futuristic" enough to toss one in. It was either that or a Jeep exploding. The people... well that was just for fun.
